Building the performative body - Che-Sheng Wu

Our body is the most incredible instrument we already have. We stand, we walk, we sneak, we dance. Let's find the musicality in our bodies. Live your life like a stage! This workshop is for everyone who is interested in exploring their performative body. In this workshop, we’ll move our bodies as we play instruments. Through exercises, group activities, and feedback, you'll discover the unique music within you and appreciate the artistry in others.

Che-Sheng Wu is an interdisciplinary performing artist. Percussion and body are his instruments. He is fascinated by the connection between musicality in physical theater and music. After finishing his Master's education in classical percussion, he further explored the art of mime. From percussionist to actor, and everything in between, this unusual combination of music and physical theater gives him the freedom to associate with a colourful collection of productions. He is a member of the percussion theater collective The Grand Percussionist. The Grand Percussionist's work deals with critical social statements and vulnerable minds, while retaining a hint of humor.
